Isaiah 43:18-21

Isaiah 42:18-21

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, now I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise."

Moving Forward

There is a song by Ricardo Sanchez/ Israel Houghton, called "Moving Forward", and its amazing.  It has been the cry of my heart for the last year.  For so long I have felt God calling me, beckoning me to come a specific direction. To move forward, down His path, toward His goal. Calling me, calling me, calling me.  I felt, however, for so long as though I had one foot stuck in the mud, and then when I would step out it was also like the feeling of walking on egg shells for awhile, because of things the enemy would use to try and keep me from moving forward toward where I could hear and KNEW I was being called.  I allowed these kinds or barriers to hinder me way to long.  Now that I have had a taste, and can see with a bit clarity what it is like to step past such barriers, and flow freely in the Holy Spirit...I am moving forward at a steady pace and I REFUSE to go back to where I was.

Here are some of the words to this song: (you can also listen to it on the side bar of my blog)

"Not going back, moving ahead, here to declare to you, the past is over in You.
Things are made new, surrendered my life to Christ, I'm moving moving forward.

What a moment, you have brought me to.
Such a freedom, I have found in You.
Your the healer, who makes all things new, yea yea yea.

You have risen, with all power in Your hands,
You have given me a second chance
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, yea yea yea

You make all things new, yea, You make all things new, and I will follow You forward."

I have seen such a change in my life and its ripple effects, when we step away from these ties that bind us, and into the freedom that God has for us.  When we do this, He is able to better use us the way He intends to.  For me, just getting a glimpse of what God has, is enough for me to desire to run beyond measure down His path. I just want to keep going while I shed even more of those barriers.  There is so much that needs to be done, so many out there that have never heard the gospel or need to be reminded of it.  So many that need to see His light in this dark world.

Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
I think that so often we get so caught up in the thinking (or barriers) of needing things to be perfect in our own minds or done a particular way before we can be used by God.  We get so caught up in our own way of thinking, of how WE think that things SHOULD be.  We can concern ourselves so much with what everyone else is doing,  that we can actually hinder what the Holy Spirit is trying to do in our own lives, and where He wants to take us.
What barriers are you allowing in your life that are holding you back?  Maybe  you have barriers because you are believing what others have told you about your situation, or what you have told yourself in your own mind.  Whatever they are, if they are not what God has said about you, then they are a lie.  You can be exactly what God says you are. As a matter of fact, you are destined to be what God says you are, you just need to break down the barriers of anything that speaks against it.
We have all made mistakes, and at times, built up our own barriers, or allowed hindrances to keep us back, but there IS good news.  God knew every mistake you would ever make and He has already made provision for your salvation and restoration.  Once you repent and turn the other way - He will begin to call you what you are...and you have the ability to walk in, and become what He alone says you are.  Praise God He says we are more than a conqueror, and that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  Regardless of what others have said about you, or what even you have said about you...answer only to what HE says about you from now on and keep moving forward.

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.”

Don’t be afraid to keep moving on, for what was before, now has gone,
God wants to accomplish so much more, but we need to move forward in the Lord.
